What is your favorite scene with each character interacting with Captain Stanley and why? Or is it a group one?
The scene in Screen Writer, where Hank could not remember his own name when Miss October came to the station.
In Camera Bug, You blinded me you twit.
When the Engine broke down in Break Down, Hank threw up his hands in to the air and said why me.
In Firehouse Quintet where John wanted that drink of water and missed his mouth and the water landed on cap’s lap the look John got was priceless.
Chet - they need a marriage counselor. Hank- he needs a baseball bat.
Welcome To Santa Rosa County - you know what you can do with that fish.
Lime Light
Marco - I got to ask Brice what craps table he was under.
Cap - When you find out, tell me okay.
Hypochondriac-Cap
When the doctors tell cap that he needs a nose job, because his handy dandy home gymnasium pinched a nerve.
When he says STATION 51 10-4 KMG 365
In The Boat - Where John says your boat or your wi……
Hank elbows John in the side and says WHATS THE MATTER WITH YOU
Family Ties when Hank says he introduced his mother-in-law to his lawyer and now they hated each other so much they ignore me completely
The first is where
Chet is making his wisecracks and Cap says, "Tell ya what! I have a 4000 page
report that needs typing. I'll put him(Chet) in a corner somewhere and let him
type it up!" Johnny says, "I like it!" Chet says you want me to be serious? I'll
be serious!" Caps says, "If he's gonna be serious, I'll go type that report
myself!" and he gets up and leaves.
The other is when Roy's mother in law is coming and Roy is doing situps. Caps
comparison to who Roy would look like cracked me up!
I like the captain's one liners. He's so funny.
In the Bottom
Line ep, Cap is trying to calm a lady down then, Vince steps in to ask the lady
some questions. Then Chet says to Cap that the couple needs a marriage
counselor. Cap says "No, a baseball bat."
"Bottom Line"
Cap to Johnny as he puts his feet on the table:
"How clean are your feet???"
"The Boat"
Cap to all the guys when they're fighting over picking numbers
"Everybody . . KNOCK IT OFF!"
'and'
Out back when Charlie comes back for his boat:
Charlie: Hey, you guys been fooling around with her?"
Johnny: "What, with your boat or your . . . " <Cap slaps Johnny on the
arm>
Cap: "Charlie, we haven't touched her . . uh . . it . . your boat."
<under his breath to Johnny: "what's the matter with you?"
"Lighter than Air Man"
Cap to Chet when he opens the door of the flooded convertible:
"Good thinking, Chet. You open the door and the water comes out on your
feet . . is that how that works?"
I love the ones
that show Cap being more than just their'boss'. There was a scene on one ep
where Johnny & Roy are looking under a house that's starting to collapse and Cap
yells at them to get out. Johnny doesn't move and Cap raises his voice - - love
that one.
I love the scene where Cap gets electrocuted in The Great Crash Diet. I love all the guys being concerned about Cap and Cap worrying about the fire and just everything about it.
For humor, there's always Hypochondri-cap. He's too funny with the arthritis stuff.
Actually, my favorites are just about any with him in them! <veg>
Some do tend to stand out more than others... Cap getting
electrocuted, but he's more worried about the fire that started than himself.
His "Do you mind?" when Johnny turns on the light at his desk when he talks to the stewardess in "The Stewardess" and, of course, his knee owie in the same episode.
The whole scene where the crew is plotting Herbert's demise (what does a fire station need with a steel leg-hold trap anyway?!) in "The Mouse".
His paranoia over McConnikee, but he's perfectly fine with the man during incidents they work together.
His fear of having to leave the fire service because he might have arthritis.
Iin "Fair Fight," his weak attempts to be stern about them naming Henry after him (Johnny's "And your problem is?" look, after Hank says HIS name is Henry, is great!).
"I like being married... sometimes" in "Body Language" and the way he just stared at Johnny after he answered the phone in the same episode (he's just one of the guys at times).
And just the way he takes
control of the incidents they're called out to, but he isn't ashamed
to ask for suggestions from his men.
I also love the one in
"Inspection," where Hank lets Boot "answer" the klaxon. I love how Hank just
steeeps over Boot instead of shoo-ing him away.
In Messin' Around, he tells Johnny grab a mop and he can be Latrine Officer of the Day. Funny . . .
That whole scene is neat!
J: "She seems to think I'm head honcho around here."
H: "Umhmm, and why does she think that, John?"
J: "I don't know, man, it wasn't anything I told her!"
Then Hank tells him he can be Latrine Officer of the Day. Hank is such a neat commander.
And later, when Johnny and Roy are in the locker room and Hank comes in and says, "John, there's somebody here to see you. She says she's here to inspect your station." He just has disapproval in his tone, like, "You'd better straighten her out or you're really going to be in deep, pal."
I just really love the way that Captain Stanley interacts with his crew. He's one of the guys, yet everyone respects him, and doesn't question his authority. I suppose one specific scene that I like was in "Snakebite" when Hank is bragging on the work that Johnny and Roy did on the lady and her son and looks at Chet, and asks, "Wouldn't you agree?" Also the same eppy, when Johnny is in the back of the Engine, and his communications are breaking up to Rampart. Hank repeats John's words, and has this very concerned look on his face. I think he would be a totally cool guy to work for.
Two of my favorite scenes with Captain Stanley are: (1) in Body Language when the guys are sitting down to dinner, Hank's says, "I like being married. Sometimes." and (2) the episode where he gives orders that Henry is NOT ever to be referred to as Hank.
In Messin' Around, he tells Johnny grab a mop and he can be Latrine Officer of the Day.
There is a Captain Stanley scene that ALWAYS cracks me up.
Charley, the F.D.
mechanic just walks out of the dayroom after tasting the coffee, and Captain
Stanley turns to Gage and demands something like, "What did you do to it?"
Johnny, thinking his Commander is referring to the steaming cup in his
hands, replies, "Don't look at me. I didn't make the coffee..."
And Hank says, "Not the coffee, yah twit! The SQUAD!"
