What is each EMERGENCY! character's favorite Christmas carol? And if you want, give a reason why. . .
Johnny--Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
Gives him an
excuse to crawl on Roy's house and pretend to be Santa
stomping on the top of the house.
Roy-- Do You Hear What I Hear? Reminds him that peace
and quiet are soon to be had, once the kids are tucked
in bed!
Marco-- 12 Days of Christmas. He likes counting down
until Christmas Day when all gifts can be delivered
and smiles seen.
Mike--Noel--He likes the telling of Christ's birth and
Angels singing.
Chet-- Grandma Got run Over by a Reindeer. His quirky
sense of humor runs riot with this song.
Cap-- Handel's Messiah-- Hallelujah Chorus reminds him
of winning against "The Dragon" and all return safely
to the station.
Wanda H.:
Hank - Silver Bells
Marco - Little Town of Bethlehem
Mike - Deck The Halls
Roy - Blue Christmas (Elvis)
Chet - Jingle Bell Rock
Johnny - Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree, and Santa Claus Is Back (Elvis)
Johnny - Jingle Bell Rock (he can whistle it)
Roy - I'll Be Home for Christmas (he's spent too many Christmases at work)
Cap - Silver Bells (he just likes to sing it)
Chet - The Hula Hoop Song by the Chipmunks (he can drive Johnny nuts singing it Chipmunk style)
Marco - Feliz Navidad (he 's the only one who knows all the words.)
Mike - White Christmas (the only way a native Californian can have snow is to sing about it)
Dixie - Blue Christmas (She knows Kel won't be spending Christmas Eve with her, he'll be at work.)
Dr. Brackett - Silent Night (that's what he wants the ER to be on Christmas Eve)
Johnny - Jingle Bells (it's the only one he knows all the words to)
Roy - Silent Night (I can just see him singing it)
Chet - Deck The Halls
Marco - Feliz Navidad
Mike - Holly Jolly Christmas (He likes the animated Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer special)
Cap - White Christmas (the guy loves snow)
Dixie - White Christmas also...(she loves Bing Crosby's voice when he sings it)
Brackett - Ave' Maria (it's relaxing after a hectic day)
Brice - 'Twas The Night Before Christmas
Chet likes the version of "Jingle Bells" with the dogs barking. He enjoys barking along with them, and is quite good at it.
Marco loves "Feliz Navidad" of course, with his heritage this is a given.
Roy enjoys "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." It reminds him of good times with his family and while growing up.
Johnny's fave is "I Saw Mommie Kissin Santa Claus" because he can just see himself as Santa kissing beautiful women.
Cap really likes "O Christmas Tree" because he enjoys helping decorate and picking out the tree, so the song brings up good feelings.
Mike's fave is "Deck the Halls" because of the beat and he just loves those fa la la la la's!
Dr. Early enjoys "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" because of the words and he can play it very well on the piano.
Dixie enjoys "White Christmas" because it's somewhat romantic and she would love to have a Christmas with snow.
Dr. Brackett likes "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" because he has a secret yearning for a blizzard and being caught in it alone with Dixie.
Dr Morton enjoys "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" because he thinks that Christmas has become too commercialized and is looking forward to a new year.
Johnny - "I'm Dreaming of a
White Christmas"
Roy - "The First Noel"
Hank - "Silent Night"
Marco - "What Child Is This"
Mike - "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"
Chet - "Frosty the Snowman"
Johnny - "Rudolph the Red-Nosed
Reindeer" (because he
can identify with poor Rudolph)
Roy - "I'll Be Home for Christmas" (because of all the
times he has to work)
Mike - "The Chipmunk Song" (because he has hidden
depths and a sense of humor)
Cap - "O Holy Night" (his favorite when sung by the
church choir)
Marco - "What Child is This?" (his mother always sang
this to him as a kid)
Chet - "I'm Getting Nuttin' for Christmas" (hey, he's
the Phantom after all)
Mike—"Daddy Looked A Lot Like Santa" (even the quiet ones enjoy a bouncy tune)
Hank—"Holly Jolly Christmas" (after years of "having" to watch those kids’ Christmas specials, he’s come to enjoy this tune and it sure beats "Rudolph," in his opinion)
Chet—"What Do You Get a Wookiee for Christmas?", though he also enjoys singing "12 Days of Christmas," making up his own "gifts" and basically singing it around the station to drive his favorite pigeon up a wall [or until Hank feels like doing the "St. Stephen’s Day Murders"]
Marco—"Joy to the World" (he likes to hum this while he’s baking holiday stuff)
Roy—"O Christmas Tree" (he seems the type to like this song)
Johnny—"’Til Santa’s Gone (Milk and Cookies)" (I love the final part of the song where Clint Black says, speaking about the Christmas tree: "Get that harmonica under there, get a guitar under there, cowboy hat, bicycle maybe, don’t know what he’s gonna do with that horse")
Joe—"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (I can just picture him on the piano singing this—did somebody else mention this as well?)
Dixie—"Meet Me Under the Mistletoe" (wishful thinking on Dixie’s part to lock lips with Kel)
Kel—"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"
McConnikee—"Carol of the Bells" (don't any songs about burning hats he could sing around Hank <g>)
