An E! Tale

Once upon a time there lived a dark-haired paramedic named John Gage. He lived in LA County just a few miles from the station where he worked. Johnny was a very good paramedic, but he tended to have minor mishaps on the job. Not all of them were his fault, but the paramedic was growing weary of visiting Rampart as a patient.

One day John's partner Roy DeSoto noticed the younger man looking glum. He wondered what could be wrong since their shift on duty had been going well.

John explained that he was sure he'd end up at Rampart as a patient before the shift was over. He also went on to tell Roy that he was getting tired of spending so much time there.

Roy thought a moment, then a smile spread across his face as he realized he had the answer. He reminded his partner that the more time spent at Rampart, the better the odds of meeting the nurse of his dreams were.

Johnny contemplated the idea and grinned when he agreed Roy was right. The smile stayed on his face even when he eventually did find himself needing a room at the hospital later.

As the nurses took turns checking in on the injured man, John soaked up the attention like a sponge. And he lived happily ever after with his periodic times as a patient at Rampart.

News Report

A favorite hang out for some went up in flames this morning just shortly after 9:00 a.m.

Barker's Bar and Grill, a restaurant frequented by local residents for many years, burned down to the ground before fire crew could put the blaze out.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown. But in an interview at the scene, Captain Hank Stanley of Station 51 in Carson speculated that it was likely to be electrical related since the business was closed at the time the fire started.

Paramedics Roy DeSoto and John Gage, also from Station 51, treated fire fighter Chester Kelly for a broken leg after their colleague fell from the roof. Kelly was taken to Rampart General Hospital for further treatment. There were no other injuries reported.

The end..
