"OUCH!"

Johnny pulled his hand back instinctively as Morton probed the deep gash.

"It needs stitches," Morton informed him.

"Great!" Johnny grumbled.

"How’d it happen?" Morton asked as he prepared to stitch Johnny’s hand.

Roy was about to answer for him when Johnny blurted out, "A patient! You know, it’s dangerous out there!"

"Sure it is, Gage," Mike murmured as he placed another stitch. Knowing that Johnny would never give up the real story, he bided his time. As Morton had hoped, Roy let Johnny leave first, leaned over and whispered in the doctor’s ear:

"A patient named Jack O’Lantern."
