Does anyone
have one or more
Emergency!
bloopers that stand out in
your mind?

There's one (can't remember which episode) where Johnny takes a 'pot' out of the oven . . .makes a big deal of using the oven mitts, and even pulls his hand back like it's burnt when he touches the lid without a holder . . . then Roy reaches over and grabs the spoon (which had been in the pot - in the oven) and dishes up the meal . . . yeah - like that metal spoon stayed cool! :o)
Also in that same "Fair Fight" scene, the guys get back to the station after the mine rescue and their uniforms are pretty grubby as you would expect. When they start crawling around on the floor looking for the dish, everyone is clean and pressed!
In Snakebite, I will always remember Captain Stanley continually speaking into the mike backwards! Everytime I think about it brings a smile to my face.
In The Pilot, when Roy takes a BP on a victim without his stethoscope. As a
nurse, I wish there was a way to do that, because sometimes when I have a
headache, I don't really need that extra noise.
This isn't a mistake but I noticed yesterday while watching Roy rescue the girl's toe from the bathtub faucet (don't know episode name) that there was a fly flying around in the girls face at once point - her reaction gave me a giggle.
I always thought it was funny that they appear to be looking under the couch for the food dish, when the couch looks like it goes to the floor.. No space to slide anything under it. hmmm.. Maybe it's just me.
Two, actually.
The first was during a rescue to a car accident. Michael Norell trips on the
sidewalk in the background.
The second was during the rescue with the couple in the backyard hot tub. The
guy has a heart attack, Chet pulls him out. The guy goes into cardiac arrest and
Hank is giving CPR. They zap the guy and he converts, but Hank starts CPR again.
I thought once the victim converts back to a normal heartbeat, CPR would be
stopped? Unless I'm missing something medical there.
More . . .
In "The Mouse," they show stock footage of the station,
with the flag raised, to establish the scene. Then you hear the wake-up tones
and see Hank getting up (*sigh*) to answer the tones. What'd Mike do, get up at
dawn, in his bunkers, and raise the flags? (That, I would have loved to have
witnessed!! <g>)
Same epi, Herbert heads for the fields... who opened the bay door when they went
to the kitchen to check the mouse trap? Then the tones go off, they rush to
their vehicles in their bunkers, but that stock footage shows Mike in uniform,
getting into the engine cab. The boy is fast!! lol
This isn't so much a blooper, but in the episode, "Fair Fight" I think it is... the one when Henry suddenly appears at the station... during the end scene when Da Guys are trying to think up a name for Henry, Michael Norell looks upwards, as if he's watching a stagehand above the set or something. Maybe he's checking the position of a waterbomb he planted... <g>
I always laugh in Honest with that
baby crying full blast and the fireman is trying to give it mouth to mouth.
LOL Another favorite is whenever they get an EKG reading without being hooked
up. :>
Oh, I noticed one the other day, the first ep with Crockett, when they're
treating the boy with the bee stings. Early tells Johnny to give the boy epi,
which Johnny acknowledges. It doesn't work and then Early says to give the kid
Benedryl. Johnny picks up the biophone and acknowledges the epi again. LOL
Obviously they just used the same footage as before.
But my all time favorite is (can't remember the ep title) Roy, Cap and Johnny
were searching a lab of some kind. Roy and Cap bring the guy out, but Johnny
somehow got confused and got lost. Well, when Roy and Cap realize Johnny hasn't
come out, Roy, the only paramedic on the scene, just gets up and runs into the
building, leaving Cap to do mouth to mouth on the victim. I always chuckle over
that one.
When Johnny gets bit by the snake in
Snakebite, he clearly loses the HT over the roof of the car. But it's back in
his hand as he moves away from the car. He's got the *Force* I guess! :o)
In Limelight the dog runs into the glass door...Randy and Kevin do great to keep
on playing their parts, but you can tell it was unexpected. That whole scene
seems thrown together. lol Like with Kevin's watch.
There's one ep where the guys leave in their jackets and arrive in their blue
shirts. Gotta love those. Darn stock footage. :o)
There's one where Johnny is driving the squad to the scene of a drug OD, and
when the squad pulls up to the scene it LOOKS like it parks normal. But you can
hear screeching tires and a crash of some sort. Wonder if that was added in on
purpose, like a personal joke? lol
How about where Cap holds the mic backwards in Snakebite! I think I remember Mike Norell saying he still gets a chuckle out of that one. :o)
In Alley cat, one camera shot the cat
is laying one direction on Johnny's bed. In the next shot, it's the other
direction.
Okay here's one of mine. In the mouse they're all in their turnouts. When they get toned out to the fire suddenly I see blue pants. Did I miss something? Or did they pull a Wonder Woman trick of spinning and boom there's their clothes. LOL! ;-)
I have a couple I remember, one where
in the beginning Johnny starts out driving the squad, but once at the rescue Roy
gets out of the drivers side! LOL
The other is in crash diet. Mike calls in a cancel on the brush company. When
Sam calls in the cancellation, he says "All those responding to Engine 15"
instead of 51! LOL
I picked up on something the other night. There's an eppy, 'Back up', I think. Anyway, Roy and Johnny come into the kitchen and the guy that's covering for Chet is making dinner. Both Roy and Johnny look grossed out by his meal, it's Chet's recipe and he's putting Cherries into a stew. Anyway, the tones sound calling Squad 51 out. When the squad pulls out of the bay, the Engine isn't there. So I ask you, did the rest of the crew not trust the replacement and leave him behind when they got called out? lol. First time I've ever noticed that one.
In "Great Crash Diet" I noticed when Johnny takes his burnt casserole out of the oven, Roy rests his hand on the open oven door. I know us mere mortals would have burnt ourselves, but these are the Boys from 51. I guess they're made of steel after all :-)
At the beginning of Grateful, Cap relays the vitals and information on Amy to Rampart before Roy ever gives them to him. I think, if I'm remembering correctly, even before Roy examines Amy! LOL
*Background by my husband, Chuck. :o)
