What would've been a favorite
board game for each of the characters of EMERGENCY! as kids and/or adults?
Chet -
Twister (does that count as a board game?), Mousetrap
Johnny -
Aggravation, Trouble
Roy -
Stratego, Risk
Mike -
Chess, Trivial Pursuit
Marco -
Chinese Checkers, Boggle
Cap - Clue,
Perfection
They'd all like to play Doctor and
Chutes and Ladders. Of course da' boys played fireman.
I can see the guys at the
station playing a game of
Risk on a slow evening, and it eventually
becoming a major battle between Johnny & Chet - they will have decimated
the rest of the guys and stay up way past their
"bedtime" to finish the game. This could even go
on beyond the shift -- they will lock the board in the
cap's office or something when they go off-shift & keep
it up over a coupla days.
Drs. Brackett and Morton -
Would have played the "Operation" game, for practice!
Johnny - Would have played "Chutes and Ladders", for practice also,
for all of his daring rescues!
I know it's not a board game,
but Brice would have played Solitaire!
I
can see the guys playing a game of Monopoly with Johnny and Chet as the last
two remaining with money and building hotels on top of hotels, arguing about
who has
the most money and property and who was going to win. And Cap coming over with
steam coming out of his ears and nose and taking the board, houses, railroads,
hotels and
all, and flipping it in the air, everything flying and the other guys clapping!
And then Cap yellS "LIGHTS OUT".
This is how I see the guys of A-Shift:
After they are through eating a great dinner of Hank's clam chowder and
cleaning the dishes they all sit around the dinner table to play Scrabble. Of
course, before they can get to the game, they argue about who will sit where.
They also argue during the game because there is always someone getting up for
something. The arguing is also about the spelling of words. At least a few
times during the game, Hank calls at least one or more of them twit and someone
even uses that word in the game with the word being challenged.
