Johnny, Mother's Day and Rampart....

"What are you going to get Joanne for Mother's Day?"

"I'm not sure yet."

"It's in two days."

"I know, I was going to take her to dinner and a movie, then go back home and have a romantic evening, just the two us."

"That sounds like a great gift."

"It was."

"What do you mean was?"

"Joanne's mother was going to take the kids to her place for the weekend, but she backed out last night, she made other plans. The one time I ask that women for anything, she backs out. "

"I can take them for the weekend."

"I don't know Johnny, they can be a handful."

"Roy, I've babysat before."

"No offense Johnny, but the last few times you watched the kids you've ended up in Rampart."

"Those were freak accidents, besides I have the Ranch now the kids have more room to play. You don`t have to worry."

"I'm not worried about the kids, it's you that I'm
worried about."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I don't mean to hurt your feelings, I was only thinking of what  happened when you've watched them in the past."

"I don't get hurt every time I watch them. Unless you don't want me to watch them, is that it?"

"Johnny I'm just concerned."

"You worry too much."

"I'll think about it."

"What's there to think about? I have no plans this weekend, I have plenty of room, and if it'll make you feel any better, I'll ask one of the guys to help me."

"If you can get one of the guys to help, ok."

"You'll see Roy, you won`t have anything to worry about."

(Rampart Hospital, the day after)

"Mike, what happened to Johnny?"

"It wasn't his fault. He went up stairs to get the sleeping bags and pillows, on his way back down the stairs he couldn't see over the pile his was caring and didn't notice Chris' skateboard at the bottom of the stairs."

"Is he ok?"

"Yes and no."

"What does that mean?"

"Dr. Brackett told me he has some scrapes, bruises and a concussion , but he's going to be fine."

"What else?"

"He doesn't remember what happened to land him here. He thinks that something has happened to you and that we're all lying to him. Brackett says it should regain his memory in time."

"I'd better go see him, thanks Mike."

"Tell Johnny I'll take care of the Ranch?"

"I will ."

(Up in Johnny's hospital room)

"Hi Junior, how are you feeling?"

"I have a headache, and I hurt all over. Are you ok?"

"I'm fine, Mike asked me to tell you he'd take care of theRanch while you're in here."

"Thanks. I wish I could remember what happened."

"You had a tumble and hit your head. Don't worry you're gonna be fine."

"I was suppose to watch the kids, wasn't I? Did I ruin your plans again?"

"No Johnny, you didn't ruin anything."

"Roy?"

"Yeah?"

"Nothing"

"Johnny?"

"I remember what happened. Oh man."

"Well?"

"Well, I did watch the kids, and everything was going great, I remember coming down the stairs, my arms loaded down with sleeping bags and pillows, then everything went black. How did I fall?"

"You tripped on Chris's skateboard and sailed through the screen door."

"I don't think I should baby-sit any more. You were right, I always whined up in Rampart."

"Well…"

"Thanks Roy."

"For what?"

"For not saying I told you so."

"Anytime, Junior."
