Brad: "April. Again. Her head's still in the wrong place."

Dixie: "Whataya mean?"

Brad: "Not good. She can't seem to get it together. She still thinks our son's problem is her fault. She can't stand the sight of him."

He walks away.

Dixie: "Listen. . .Brad. . .

Dixie: "That's gonna pass."

Dixie: "You know, the maternal instinct is very strong."

Dixie: "Now you just wait. . ."

". . .till she gets her hands on that baby. Starts taking care of him herself. She's gonna--"

Brad interrupts: "She doesn't want him.

Brad: "She wants to give him up for adoption. I can't do it."

Brad: "I'd keep him myself if I had to. . .without her."

Brad: "April says she wants to go back home. .  by herself."

Both sit in silence

Brad: "You told me not to let go. . ."
