The captain suggests John and Roy take a fire prevention run and go down and check out some electrical wiring.

Roy rolls his eyes as John answers, "Cap, . . ."

". . .on a day like today. . ."
|
". . .we'd get electrocuted."
|
|
Chet: "Well, the
jolt might do ya some good."
|
Chet: "Get you back on your feet atleast."
|
Johnny goes on to tell the captain how the shift has gone so far. . .

Next scene: Getting a snakebite victim ready to transport

An interesting view from the back of the ambulance

Johnny trots alongside the stretcher

Johnny leans over the victim as they continue

Johnny sits in the seat beside the victim

The ambulance driver and the other attendant hurry to the front seats.

Leaving the scene

Roy is still putting equipment away in the squad (None of it went with Johnny . . .not even the biophone)

The ambulance arrives at Rampart

Later at Rampart: Brackett informs some elderly people they can now go see their friend in her room
|
The lady is watching a baseball game on TV

Vince lets Tommy know how lucky he is after what he pulled.

Taking care of the victim

Johnny notices Roy come in
|
|
Johnny: "What happened with the kid? Roy: "We talked him out of it."
|
Johnny: "Man, I couldn't stop him." Roy: "Listen, that's okay."
|
Roy: "How's *he* doing?"
|
Johnny: "Ah, he's getting a little shocky."
|
The police officer finally brings the oxygen in
|
Johnny: "Rampart, we're preparing to transport."
|
Brackett: "10-4, 51."
|
Johnny hangs up the phone.
|
The officer hands Johnny the oxygen mask.
|

Johnny places the oxygen mask on the victim

Transporting
|
Arriving at Rampart:
The victims from the scene above are brought to Rampart
|
Brackett comes out of a room
|
|
Brackett: "Is that your stabbing victim, Roy?"
|
Roy: "Yeah. Blood sample." (holding up the tube)
|
Roy: "I'll take it to the lab."
|
The waiting area in the ER

Dixie watches Brad.
|
Dixie: "Brad?"
|
Dixie: "What's the matter?"
|
Brad: "April. Again. Her head's still in the wrong place."
|
Dixie: "Whataya mean?" Brad: "Not good. She can't seem to get it together. She still thinks our son's problem is her fault. She can't stand the sight of him."
|
He walks away.
|
|
Dixie: "Listen. . .Brad. . .
|
Dixie: "That's gonna pass."
|
Dixie: "You know, the maternal instinct is very strong."
|
Dixie: "Now you just wait. . ."
|
". . .till she gets her hands on that baby. Starts taking care of him herself. She's gonna--"
|
Brad interrupts: "She doesn't want him.
|
Brad: "She wants to give him up for adoption. I can't do it."
|
Brad: "I'd keep him myself if I had to. . .without her."
|
|
Brad: "April says she wants to go back home. . by herself."
|
Both sit in silence
|
|
Brad: "You told me not to let go. . ."
|
". . .how do you hold onto someone you can't reach?"
|
Brad goes out the door and Dixie sits alone.
