Mother's Day Plans

"Daddy"

"Yes, honey?"

"I know what I want to give mommy for Mother's Day."

"You do?"

"Yep"

"Are you going to tell me, or do I have to guess?"

"Of course I'll tell you daddy, it's real portent."

"You mean important."

"That's what I said daddy."

"Ok honey, tell me what you want to give mommy for Mother's Day."

"I thought really hard about it you know."

"I know."

"I really think it's a good idea, even if Chris says it's dumb."

"I won't think it's dumb, I really want to know."

"I want to give mommy the day off."

"The day off?"

"Yes, I want to give mommy a day off, like you get when you don't have to go to work. She never gets a day off daddy."

"That's true Jenny."

"So can I do it?"

"Of course you can sweetie, Chris and I will help you."

"Thank you Daddy! This is gonna be the best Mother's Day ever. Mommy will be so surprised."

"Yes she will. So what are we going to do for mommy on her day off?"

"Everything Daddy."

"Everything?"

"Yes, everything she does to take care of us, we're going to do for her."

"Alright then, you tell me everything we need to do and I'll make a list."

"I already wrote it down."

"You did?"

"Yep, can I read it to you?"

"Sure Pumpkin."

"Let's see, we are gonna let her sleep late, cook her breakfast, so she can eat in bed. Then we have to make sure we clean up so there's no mess."

"That sounds good."

"I'm not finish."

"Sorry"

"It's okay. After we clean up, we need to clean the house, do the laundry, iron the shirts, mop the floors, give the dog a bath and vacuum the living room. Then we need to change the sheets in all the rooms, make lunch and run the dishwasher. While mommy takes her nap, we get to rest for awhile before we go over to Uncle Johnny`s. We are spending the night with him. Then you and mommy will go out to dinner, to the Seafood Restaurant."

"Well sweetheart that sure is a lot of work and you spelled all those big words correctly. Did Uncle Johnny or Chris help you with the spelling?"

"Oh no Daddy , Uncle Johnny didn't help me he was working. Chris didn't help me either, he said it was a dumb idea. He said he's gonna give mommy the perfume he bought."

"I see, so who helped you with all those big words?"

"Mommy! She even helped me think of things to put on my list."

"That was nice of her. Who's idea was it to go to the Seafood restaurant for dinner?"

"Mommy`s."

"Well mommy will be getting a very special gift this year."

"She deserves it. She`s a great Mommy."

"She sure is Honey, she's also very smart ."
