The character of Kent Donaldson was created by Eric Kaldor and belongs to him. I’m just borrowing him to play. :o)

This takes place just before the rescue at the refinery. . .
Doctor Donaldson climbed in the squad and slid to the middle of the seat. Even he could tell it was going to be a major incident. The klaxons were still sounding as Johnny climbed in beside him.
Finally stations and trucks were called out by number as Roy drove the Squad out of the apparatus bay and toward the street. He turned to the left and headed away from the station, the engine following close behind.
Kent Donaldson furrowed his brow as both trucks continued on. “Uhm. . .I’ve got a question.”
“We’re going forty-five miles per hour,” Johnny answered flatly.
“That’s not it.”
“It’s not another person stuck in a mailbox,” Roy assured.
“No, that’s not it either.”
“Then what’s the problem?” Johnny wondered. He was used to Donaldson’s lack of respect for firemen and expected some kind of wise crack.
“How’d you know which direction to go?” the doctor asked Roy.
“How’d I know?”
Kent nodded. “Yeah, how’d you know? We hadn’t even heard the location yet when you pulled onto the street and headed west.”
Both paramedics were silent a moment before Johnny said with a smug grin on his face, “Well, Doctor, that just goes to show you, we firemen are that good at what we do.”
Donaldson glanced at Roy and got a nod of confirmation.
Besides, Roy thought to himself. It was a 50/50 chance I was right. And now, with the skeptical doctor in the cab with them, he was glad he had been.
My thanks to Ruth for sending me the blooper. :o)
