Ode to Chester B. Kelly

Not a tall man, but built just right
his remarks can be just a tad bit trite

Gorgeous eyes mischievous and bright
curly dark hair and a mustache adds to the sight

A practical joker to no end
but considers his pigeon to be a friend

All round brown nose always attentive
the goal not always a self-serving incentive

His invention wasn't meant to amuse
but how could he miss with suction cup shoes

A favorite hobby antique barbed wire collecting
a softer side he showed that was totally unsuspecting

The engineers exam he studied until he could no more
but so far has only posted a score of seventy-four

A mouse named Herbert had him so obsessed
that when the trap finally sprung he became depressed

On the job he gets the job done
