The Bad Hair Day

By Vanessa Sgroi

Roy ambled through the door to the locker room to change before roll call.  He glanced toward his partner's locker and was surprised to see a strange blond-haired man standing in front of it.

"Um, can I help you?"

He was shocked when the strange man turned out to be his erstwhile partner.

"Johnny!  What . . . what in the world did you do to your hair?  It's . . . it's . . . BLOND!"

Gage starred glumly back at his partner before answering.

"I know it's blond."

"Well, why'd you . . . um . . . change it?"

This time Johnny snorted softly.

"Remember Trixie?  Well, she's going to beauty school, and she asked me if she could practice on me.  It was only supposed to be a few highlights.  But she messed up and the next thing I knew, it looked like this."

"Hmm, well, it's . . . different."

"Yeah, I'll say.  I was gonna dye it back to my original color, but Trixie told me to wait awhile because she was afraid it might fall out.  So I decided being blond was better than being bald.  No offense."

"Hey, I'm not bald yet, Junior."
